Job description
The construction of a new rectifier station has now fully commenced. The contractor is on site, the IPM team is in place, and decisions have a direct impact on schedule, budget, and the environment. In this phase, you step in as Project Control Manager. You will monitor the project's control, identify bottlenecks in a timely manner, and ensure that the project continues in a controlled manner, so that the metros and trams continue to run reliably in the future.
What you will do
You will work on multiple projects simultaneously within the GRS program: the realization of rectifier stations for metro and trams. You will be responsible for the integral control of the project and monitor the coherence between schedule, budget, risks, quality, contractual agreements, and organization.
You will oversee the effects of choices on these control aspects and on the environment, gather information, and provide clear, reliable management information. With this, you will support the IPM team and the client in making substantiated decisions and ensure that the program and projects are managed in a controlled manner.
Your responsibilities include:
- You will draw up control plans and maintain oversight of GROKIT aspects.
- Daily, you will liaise with the contractor and, as the client, manage agreements and progress.
- Together with the project controller, you will translate financial developments into choices for the project.
- You will report to the project manager, team leader, and other stakeholders.
- Specialists from the control team will be supported, ensuring processes and procedures remain clear.
- You will coordinate the integral program schedule and monitor its alignment with the schedules of construction teams and sub-projects.
- You will manage the risk management process and monitor the coherence between risks, schedule, and costs.
- You will ensure an up-to-date financial overview (budget, commitments, forecast, and cash flow).
- You will prepare progress reports for the client and steering group.
What you bring
You understand the dynamics of a complex infrastructure project and know what is needed to maintain an overview. Collaboration with a contractor from the client's perspective is familiar territory for you. Working in an environment with different interests suits you well, as does taking a clear position within it. What else you bring:
- At least a Bachelor's work and thinking level, in the direction of finance, economics, business administration, or technology.
- At least 5 years of experience as a Project Control Manager.
- Experience with multidisciplinary projects with a financial scope of €50 million or larger.
- Strong in financial control, with knowledge of project control, risks, and scheduling.
- Able to switch between contract, environment, technology, and project management.
- Clear communication style; you can deal with various conversation partners, from specialists to clients.
- Able to maintain the overall overview while also being able to delve into details.
What you can count on
You take good care of our travelers, so we take good care of you. This is what we offer you:
- A gross monthly salary between €4,929 and €6,819 gross per month (scale 11A) based on 36 hours per week. The grading depends on your experience and education.
- A 13th month, 8% holiday allowance, 1.5% sustainable employability allowance, plus a well-arranged pension with ABP.
- Free unlimited travel with GVB public transport and for a small contribution, also for your family.
- An average of 21 days off per year, this depends on your age, and you can buy extra vacation days through our cafeteria model. This way, work and private life remain well-balanced!
- A contribution to your health insurance of €84.91 per month.
- Possibility to work hybrid with a home working allowance.
- Various training and career development opportunities.
Your team
You will join a team that is already well-coordinated. The contractor is already involved, and the project team is in place. This allows you to start quickly.
Within the IPM team, you will work closely with the project manager, contract manager, technical manager, and environmental manager. Additionally, you will have a lot of contact with the controller and the specialists from the control team.
