Construction Project Manager – Fit-out Projects

Fit-out projects have a distinct pace. Deadlines are tight, work often takes place in commercial spaces or malls, and access, supply, and working hours come with clear rules and restrictions. It’s not enough to follow a schedule: you need to anticipate bottlenecks, coordinate people effectively, and make quick decisions when the reality on the construction site changes the initial plan.
For our client, a developing construction company, we are recruiting a Project Manager – Fit-Out, a civil engineer with experience in project management and a good understanding of interior fit-out works.

We are looking for an organized and hands-on professional who knows how to bring together all components of a project: teams, subcontractors, suppliers, budget, deadlines, quality, and client communication.

What experience do we want you to have:

• completed higher education in Civil Engineering, Construction, or a relevant field;
• experience in construction project management;
• experience in fit-out, interior design, or commercial space projects is a significant advantage;
• the ability to simultaneously coordinate teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and resources;
• a good understanding of execution stages, technical documentation, and construction standards;
• the ability to work with tight deadlines and prioritize correctly;
• the capacity to make quick decisions without losing sight of costs and quality;
• clear communication, assertiveness, and negotiation skills;
• knowledge of Microsoft Project, AutoCAD, and other specific tools;
• availability for travel within the country;
• driving license category B.

We are not just looking for someone to fill out reports and monitor the project from a distance. We are looking for a manager who understands the construction site, anticipates what might go wrong early on, and knows how to bring people together to complete the job.

What you will do
You will take over projects from the planning stage and coordinate them until the final acceptance of works, having direct responsibility for their smooth execution.

Specifically:

• you will analyze project documentation and organize the execution stages;
• you will build and track the work schedule, taking into account tight deadlines and the specific restrictions of commercial spaces;
• you will establish the necessary resources, materials, teams, and subcontractors;
• you will coordinate the activities of the involved teams and monitor daily work progress;
• you will manage relationships with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and other involved parties;
• you will monitor the project budget and costs and intervene quickly when deviations occur;
• you will ensure compliance with the technical project, quality standards, and contractual requirements;
• you will identify risks, delays, or discrepancies early on and propose applicable solutions;
• you will organize the acceptance of works and project closure;
• you will prepare clear reports on progress, costs, risks, and necessary decisions.

Project Specifics
The projects are primarily fit-out type, have a rapid pace, and are frequently carried out in malls or other commercial spaces where access, supply, and working hours must be carefully coordinated.
Some projects may also take place in other cities across the country. Availability for travel during these projects is required, usually for short periods, of up to 1–2 months.

What you will receive

• permanent employment contract;
• salary of 8,000 RON net/month for the first six months;
• salary increase of up to 10% after the first six months, depending on individual performance;
