Internal Prevention Service Manager

As Head of Internal Prevention Service, you are the key figure who develops, implements, coordinates, and evaluates Carrefour Belgium's prevention policy. Your primary goal is to improve the well-being of 8,000 employees and minimize risks related to safety and health.

You are the main advisor to management on prevention matters and provide functional leadership to a team of 18 prevention advisors. All statutory provisions regarding the responsibilities of an internal service for prevention and protection at work apply to this function.

You report to the Director Social Relations within the Human Resources department.

• Strategic Prevention Plan and Policy: You develop and implement a strategic prevention plan, advise management on this, and set the budget for the prevention service and manage it.

• Well-being and Cooperation: You develop a policy around prevention, protection, well-being, psychological resilience, and agility. You promote open communication and constructive cooperation with local CPBW's

• Risk Assessment and Management: You organize and coordinate risk analyses, formulate and control preventive measures in close collaboration with the business, and investigate work accidents to prevent recurrence.

• Absence Management: You realize a prevention policy and health programs, monitor workload and stress, and ensure an E2E policy and process regarding reintegration after absence.

• Legislation and Compliance: You ensure compliance with legislation on safety and health, stay up-to-date with changes, and implement them. You structure the center of expertise and ensure that knowledge remains current within HR.

• Stakeholder Management & Coaching: You build lasting relationships with internal (e.g., Regional Directors, Technical Services, Immo, Quality) and external stakeholders (e.g., external prevention services, labor inspection). You take a coaching role towards the prevention advisors.
  

• Education & Experience:

  • Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., safety science, engineering sciences).

  • Addition education to Prevention Advisor Level 1.

  • Demonstrable experience in a similar function.

  • In-depth knowledge of Belgian legislation on safety, health, and the environment.

  • Absolute experience in functionally managing teams and collaborating with diverse stakeholders.

  • Floated in Dutch and French.
