SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER – CONSTRUCTION

Job description

We are looking for a Senior Project Manager – Construction, with solid experience in construction project management and general contracting project coordination.

The person in this role will coordinate projects from the bidding and preparation stage to completion and acceptance of works, being responsible for deadlines, budget, resources, quality, and the relationship with the main partners involved in the project.

The role involves an integrated project approach, as well as constant collaboration with internal departments, beneficiaries, subcontractors, and suppliers.

Requirements and qualifications

  • Graduate of a Technical University of Construction, specializing in Civil, Industrial, and Agricultural Construction (CCIA), Hydrotechnical Engineering, or a specialization relevant to the construction field;
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in the construction field, including relevant experience in general contracting project management;
  • Demonstrated experience in coordinating complex construction projects;
  • Very good technical knowledge in the construction field;
  • Experience in managing budgets, costs, and execution deadlines;
  • Good knowledge of the construction materials market and available resources in the field;
  • Knowledge of the legislation applicable to construction projects;
  • Good knowledge of MS Office operations – especially Excel and Word;
  • Knowledge of MS Project and AutoCAD is an advantage;
  • Advanced knowledge of English;
  • Good financial analysis and project cost and budget information management skills;
  • Leadership, organization, and prioritization skills;
  • Very good communication, negotiation, and partner relationship management skills;
  • Decision-making and problem-solving abilities;
  • Availability for travel, depending on project needs;
  • Category B driver's license.

Main Responsibilities:

Project Management:

  • Coordinates construction projects from the preparation stage to the completion and acceptance of works;
  • Plans, organizes, and monitors project activities, ensuring compliance with deadlines, budget, and quality standards;
  • Coordinates the development and updating of execution schedules and monitors the physical and financial progress of the project;
  • Identifies project risks, establishes preventive measures, and monitors their implementation;
  • Coordinates resource needs and procurement planning according to the execution schedule;
  • Monitors project costs and revenues and ensures compliance with the approved budget;
  • Periodically analyzes the project status and proposes corrective measures when necessary.

Team and Execution Coordination:

  • Coordinates the project team and ensures efficient collaboration between involved functions;
  • Supervises the activity of execution teams and project managers;
  • Coordinates the activity of subcontractors and ensures compliance with deadlines, costs, and quality requirements;
  • Participates in the selection and evaluation of subcontractors and suppliers;
  • Negotiates and manages contractual relationships with subcontractors, within the granted mandate;
  • Monitors work statements, contractual documents, and compliance with the obligations undertaken by the parties involved.

Relationship with Beneficiaries and Partners

  • Represents the company in relations with beneficiaries, designers, subcontractors, suppliers, and other project partners;
  • Participates in project meetings and monitors the fulfillment of contractual obligations;
  • Manages and resolves operational and commercial issues that arise during the project;
  • Ensures efficient and transparent communication with all involved parties;
  • Monitors the satisfaction of beneficiary requirements and compliance with contractual conditions.

Involvement in the Bidding Stage:

  • Participates in the analysis of projects and bidding documentation;
  • Contributes to the substantiation of technical solutions, execution schedule, and project costs;
  • Collaborates with internal departments for offer preparation;
  • Analyzes technical and commercial requirements and identifies main risks and execution conditions;
  • Contributes to the preparation of necessary documentation for participation in bidding procedures.

Project Completion:

  • Coordinates activities required for project completion and acceptance of works;
  • Monitors the remediation of any non-conformities and the closure of contractual obligations;
  • Coordinates the preparation of final documentation and the handover of the project to the beneficiary;
  • Participates in phase-specific inspections, partial inspections, and final acceptance.
