Manager, Database Administrator (DBA)

7 - 11 years Job Description: Position Overview: As a key member of the McDonalds Global Data Platform & Operations team, this role focuses on the physical design, management, and optimization of cloud database platforms, with a strong emphasis on GCP BigQuery. The role supports the implementation and maintenance of database structures, metadata definitions, and source-to-target mappings, while ensuring database platforms are reliable, scalable, and cost-efficient in support of advanced analytics and business intelligence initiatives. This includes designing and implementing data warehousing solutions using GCP BigQuery, developing and maintaining ETL processes, and collaborating with stakeholders to ensure data quality and integrity. The role also involves monitoring and troubleshooting database performance issues, optimizing query performance, and ensuring compliance with security and governance policies. Additionally, the DBA will work closely with the Data Engineering team to design and implement scalable data pipelines, and collaborate with other teams to integrate databases with various applications and systems. This is a critical role that requires strong technical skills, excellent communication and collaboration abilities, and a passion for working with large datasets.
