Job description

Do you want to work in a supportive environment that moves fast? The 5th French provider in 10 years, Octopus Energy is a renewable energy provider acting as a true spearhead for the electro-tech revolution.

How do we do it? We can't revolutionize the world by working like everyone else. We try not to take ourselves too seriously; here we operate in an environment without too many processes or rules. The most important thing isn't just to follow the movement, but to create it.

We don't want to create company clones. We want you, with your talents, your perspectives, and your unique skills.

We are looking for a Senior Data Analyst to join our Collections team

In this role, you will be responsible for guiding the B2C collections strategy based on the analysis of our customer data and collections operations.

To achieve this, you will need to measure the impact of existing actions, build analysis reports, and propose strategic directions to improve collection rates and manage credit risk.

You will support the Collections and Finance teams in their decision-making and in improving Octopus Energy France's collection processes. You will report to the Collections and Credit Risk Manager and work closely with the collections, ops, and finance teams.

Your missions:
  • Be a driving force in the implementation of the company's collections strategy and priorities

  • Develop, maintain, and share complex data reports and analyses related to debt, collections, and more broadly Finance for Octopus Energy France

  • Be a proactive force in implementing collections processes and prevention measures to ensure an excellent customer experience (e.g., payment plan adjustments, debt installment plans)

  • Optimize credit decisions based on data (A/B testing of workflows, threshold decisions)

  • Model debt in collaboration with the various Finance teams in France and Group for provisioning

  • Develop close collaboration between your team and the France Data teams, and participate in reporting instances to the French COMEX and the Group.
  • This position also includes the direct management of 2 colleagues, 1 experienced Data Analyst and 1 Data Scientist: daily support, technical skill development, career progression at Octopus, etc.

    Profile sought:
    The essentials:
  • You have a solid background in data analysis and piloting, such as Analytics Engineer or Data Analyst for example; ideally in the finance or tech sectors,
  • You have excellent skills in the modern data stack: Python, SQL, DBT, Git in particular; you know how to use these tools to develop complex analyses and propose strategic recommendations,
  • You have at least one previous experience in direct management,
  • You are rigorous and proactive in improving your reports and analyses
  • You take ownership of your subjects and drive them forward,
  • You know how to manage projects involving multiple internal teams,
  • You are comfortable with data visualization tools in general,
  • You are able to synthesize analyses clearly, in a few slides or lines for example.
  • The pluses:
  • You have knowledge of collections / credit topics ("added bonus" if it's in the Energy sector/context),
  • You have knowledge of data/cloud environments (GCP) and automation tools,
  • You have knowledge of Machine Learning and AI.

  • This position is for you if:
  • You enjoy contributing to and driving the strategy of a team
  • You are pedagogical and want to participate in the technical skill development of your team
  • You know how to work collaboratively and with different teams
  • You are a problem-solver and you drive your projects forward
  • You are rigorous and proactive
  • You can work in French and English (minimum C1 level), to communicate with our colleagues in the group and across the Channel
  • You share our ambition to revolutionize the energy world!
  • Why you'll love working with us?

Have you seen the salary or the range planned for this position but would like to discuss it? Ask us! During our first contact, this is a point we always address, because even if we take care to define the fairest possible grids, it also seems important to us to match your experience to the right salary. We will have the opportunity to tell you more about how we defined the salary and the other benefits you can enjoy if you join us! Finally, know that we can have a certain degree of flexibility, as we would never want salary to be a reason for someone not to apply to Octopus - what is most important to us is finding the right Octofit!

Certified since 2024 and 4th in 2025, Octopus Energy France is ranked 1st out of over 200 companies in the Great Place to Work 2026 ranking! This reflects our commitment to a fulfilling work environment!

We are an organization where people learn, decide, and build faster. Where they work autonomously, with extraordinary people, on innovative projects. Profit sharing, flex-office, excellent health insurance, sustainable mobility package, coverage of part of your transport pass beyond the legal minimum, and even special leave days to invest in a volunteer project that is important to you… We want your investment to be rewarded with benefits that truly matter to you!

At Octopus, we seek fundamentally kind and empathetic individuals. Equal opportunities are important to us, and we strive to provide an inclusive and equitable work environment. We invite you to apply, regardless of your age, gender, marital status, color, disability, pregnancy or parenthood, origin, religious beliefs, or sexual orientation.
