Manager - Civil

Job description

The Civil Manager will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing all civil works for a wind power project from the IPP side, ensuring timely, cost-effective, and quality execution in compliance with contractual, statutory, and safety requirements. This role involves close coordination with EPC contractors, consultants, OEMs, and land acquisition teams, and internal stakeholders to deliver the project within defined timelines.

Responsibilities:

  1. Project Planning & Coordination

  • Develop and review civil works execution plans, schedules, and budgets for wind farm infrastructure (foundations, roads, crane pads, substation civil works, etc.).

  • Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and land teams to ensure readiness before mobilization.

  • Liaise with OEMs to ensure foundation design requirements and interface management are met.

  1. Execution & Quality Control

  • Oversee and monitor all civil construction activities at the site, ensuring adherence to design, quality, and safety standards.

  • Review and approve method statements, construction drawings, and material submittals.

  • Conduct regular site inspections and quality audits and ensure timely resolution of non-conformities.

  1. Contractor & Stakeholder Management

  • Manage EPC / civil contractors, ensuring contractual compliance and performance.

  • Facilitate coordination between contractors, consultants, and internal teams to resolve technical and execution issues.

  • Support in claims management, variation orders, and contractual dispute resolution.

  1. HSE Compliance

  • Ensure strict adherence to Health, Safety, and Environmental standards at all stages of civil works.

  • Promote a strong safety culture and lead incident investigations where required.

  1. Reporting & Documentation

  • Maintain accurate progress reports, site records, and documentation for civil works.

  • Provide regular updates to project leadership on progress, risks, and mitigation measures.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Education: B.Tech/M.Tech/Diploma – Civil

  • Experience: 10–16 years of experience

  • Knowledge – Wind Project Civil Engineering, Geotechnical & Structural Design, Construction Standards & Codes, Contract & Project Management, HSE Regulations, Quality Management.

  • Skills:
