Quarry Manager

What you will be doing:

The Quarry Manager is part of the Production department of the factory. In this position:

• You will coordinate and organize exploitation operations to achieve production volumes, ensure quality compliance, and optimize costs;
• You will manage the team and staff performance (training, evaluation, objectives, development, timekeeping, discipline, and succession plans);
• You will ensure compliance with Health and Safety (H&S), environmental, and legal regulations, including risk prevention and emergency management;
• You will plan and control production and maintenance, monitoring KPIs, budgets, equipment operation, and operational efficiency;
• You will coordinate projects, permits, and relations with authorities, including reporting, exploitation licenses, and perimeter extensions;
• You will monitor quality and continuous improvement, implement procedures, manage non-conformities, and propose process optimizations.

What kind of person are we looking for:

·       Field experience: 3-5 years of experience in surface mining industry (quarries, gravel pits), or in similar positions;

·       Higher education: technical university degree, preferably in mining engineering, geological engineering, geology;

·       Authorizations / Certifications that represent an advantage:

- ANRM accreditation;

- 80-hour H&S course;

·       Knowledge:

-          Solid knowledge of the legal framework applicable to the identification, evaluation, and valorization of useful mineral resource deposits;

-          General understanding of mineral resource exploitation processes, with an emphasis on quarry activities (surface mining);

-          Knowledge regarding the evaluation and utilization of deposits intended for the construction materials industry;

-          Familiarity with quarry exploitation technologies, including mechanical rock breaking and drilling-blasting, as well as with the processing of extracted raw materials;

·       Foreign languages: English – intermediate level;

·       Computer skills: MS Office – advanced level;

·       Availability for field work, knowledge of management systems, industrial facility inspections (internal equipment visits), soft skills – autonomous team management;

·       Experience in obtaining specific authorizations and permits for quarry activities represents an advantage;

·       Honesty, flexibility, assertive communication, self-control/resilience, critical thinking, creativity.
