Job Title: Male Support Worker (Identified) - Social Emotional Wellbeing – Townsville, Queensland. Job Type: Permanent – Full-Time. Practice Information: This Aboriginal and Islander Community Controlled Health Organisation is committed to providing culturally appropriate health care that encompasses physical, social, emotional, cultural, spiritual and economic wellbeing. Their key strategic priority is to expand and improve their model for delivering holistic primary health care and community development programs. This role is an identified position for a male support worker to work with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. The role will involve working with clients to provide support and assistance in their daily lives, and to help them access and engage with health and wellbeing services. The role will also involve working with other health professionals and community members to develop and implement programs that promote the social and emotional wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. The ideal candidate will have experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, and will have a strong understanding of the social and emotional wellbeing needs of this population. The candidate will also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and will be able to work independently and as part of a team. The role will require the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and to be flexible and adaptable in response to changing circumstances.
