Job description
Founded in 1843, IMT Mines Alès currently has 1400 students (including 250 international) and 380 staff members. The school has 3 high-level scientific and technological research and teaching centers, which operate in the fields of materials and civil engineering (C2MA), environment and risks (CREER), artificial intelligence and industrial and digital engineering (CERIS). You will be attached to the Centre des Matériaux des Mines Alès (C2MA) of IMT Mines Alès and within the research team: UMR LMGC "Laboratoire de Mécanique et Génie Civil".
As a Lecturer of the Institut Mines-Télécom, you will carry out teaching, research, and technological transfer tasks.
Teaching Activities
Participate in the teaching activities of the school in the Civil Engineering and Sustainable Building (GCBD) department, in the Infrastructures and Major Works (IGO), Building and Energy (BE), and Building (BAT) programs, in the form of lectures, tutorial sessions, practical work, project supervision, and student tutoring;
Provide teaching in the fields of civil engineering, materials, and structural analysis;
Deliver teaching in English or develop active pedagogy methods;
Participate in student recruitment juries and promotion activities for engineering training;
Lead a specialization in the final year of study and propose research and development missions;
Ensure a minimum volume of 150 hours of teaching per year.
Research Activities
Conduct research activities within the "Dispersed Media" axis of LMGC;
Strengthen the theme of low-carbon cementitious matrices, in relation to the macroscopic properties and durability of these materials, and federate other researchers by linking it to the modeling and mechanics aspects developed at LMGC;
Focus on methods for experimental characterization of the properties of fresh and hardened cementitious materials, particularly microstructure, requiring knowledge of the physico-chemistry of cementitious matrices and admixtures;
Contribute to the collective management of the Civil Engineering platform.
Valorization and Technological Transfer Activities
Seek and establish research contracts with industrial and academic partners, and draft funding application dossiers with public organizations or international programs;
Act as the interface with the contractual partner, take charge of the scientific objectives defined in the project, lead a project team, and ensure its progress monitoring and related communication;
Develop an understanding of the commercial exploitation process of research results to contribute to cooperation between academic research, industrial research, and production sectors.
Carry out, within their scientific and technical field of expertise, actions aimed at supporting companies or the school's incubator to promote the creation of spin-offs and the development of technology companies.

The position requires confirmed experience in teaching civil engineering and construction materials, as well as an ability to design and implement innovative teaching methods adapted to the targeted skills. You must have solid research experience, demonstrate your ability to develop scientific collaborations, publish your work, and valorize research results with academic and industrial partners. Proficiency in scientific English is required; international experience and the ability to integrate into the LMGC and C2MA projects will be assets.
The evaluation criteria are:
Required Degree: Engineering degree or Master's degree in civil engineering or sustainable building, as well as a PhD in civil engineering or materials science.
