Product Development Master - Upholstered Furniture

PROTOTYPER / DESIGN ENGINEER FOR CORNERS AND SOFAS
Upholstered Furniture Factory — Cisnădie, Sibiu County

Dumonde is an upholstered furniture producer from Sibiu, with its own factory, showrooms, and online stores (dumonde.ro, paturidumonde.ro). We are looking for a colleague with experience in design and prototyping, who will become the technical pillar of the development of corner sofas and sofas — from idea, to sketch, to the finished product ready for mass production.

If you are the type of engineer who sees a sketch and already knows where the problem in production will arise, or who personally tests the comfort of a prototype before declaring it "ready" — we want to meet you.

What you will do:

• Design and develop new prototypes for corner sofas and sofas, from concept to finished product
• Create technical sketches and complete production documentation (DTP/technical sheets for carpentry, tailoring, upholstery)
• Collaborate directly with production and carpentry teams to validate technical feasibility
• Optimize structures and construction solutions for mass production (costs, execution time, quality)
• Test product functionality, ergonomics, and comfort before launch
• Actively participate in the development of new models and the improvement of existing ones in the portfolio

What we are looking for:

• Experience in upholstered furniture design or prototyping (mandatory)
• Solid technical knowledge and attention to constructive details
• Knowledge of a design program (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, SketchUp, or similar) — a significant advantage
• Practical, solution-oriented thinking — not just on paper sketches
• Seriousness, autonomy, and ability to work in a team with production

🕒 Schedule: Monday–Friday, 07:00–16:00 — no weekends
