Ruslamere Hotel & Conference Centre is a well-established 4-star property in the heart of Durbanville, offering accommodation, conferencing, and hospitality services. We’re looking for a reliable, hands-on Maintenance Worker to join our team and help keep the property in excellent condition.

The Role

You’ll be responsible for general maintenance, repairs, and upkeep across the hotel, spa, and conference facilities. From fixing door handles and painting touch-ups to attending to leaks or minor plumbing, you’ll help ensure everything runs smoothly and looks its best. Complex electrical and plumbing work is handled by our contractors — you’ll manage the smaller, day-to-day tasks that keep the property running efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance, painting, and minor repairs.
• Handle small plumbing issues (e.g., leaking taps, blocked drains, toilet flush mechanisms).
• Replace fittings, door handles, light bulbs, and fixtures as needed.
• Conduct preventative maintenance checks and report larger issues to management.
• Liaise with and assist external contractors when required.
• Maintain tools, storage areas, and safety standards.
• Drive locally to collect supplies, materials, or assist with errands as needed.

Requirements

• Basic maintenance and handyman experience (hotel or property environment preferred).
• Knowledge of painting, plumbing basics, and small-scale repair work.
• Physically fit, proactive, and able to work independently.
• Valid South African driver’s licence (essential).
• Reliable, trustworthy, and punctual.
• Must be comfortable working around guests and maintaining a professional appearance.
