Maintenance Fitter

About the role: We currently have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced, hands-on, Maintenance Fitter to join our team in Hamilton. Reporting to the Engineering Manager your role will be to plan, direct, conduct and deliver the maintenance engineering function at our production facility. Key responsibilities will include: Providing effective, hands-on maintenance service to manufacturing operations and departments Planning, implementing, and conducting maintenance of the facilities to continue to ensure the highest levels of production efficiency and quality. This will involve: Conducting routine maintenance tasks, such as lubrication, cleaning, and minor repairs, to ensure the continued operation of equipment and machinery. Identifying and reporting potential maintenance issues and implementing corrective actions to prevent equipment failure. Collaborating with other departments to ensure that maintenance activities are aligned with production schedules and goals. Developing and implementing maintenance plans and schedules to ensure that equipment is properly maintained and that maintenance activities are prioritized effectively. Conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence of equipment failures. Providing technical guidance and support to other maintenance personnel. Maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities, including work performed, materials used, and equipment condition. Ensuring compliance with all relevant safety and quality standards. Developing and maintaining a comprehensive understanding of the production facility and its equipment, including mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems. Providing technical support and guidance to other departments as required. This role will require a strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems, as well as experience with maintenance planning and scheduling. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
