Maintenance Engineer - Meat Processing Plant Day or Night Shift | Pay Rate Negotiable | Southland Based We are seeking a skilled and reliable Maintenance Engineer to join a hardworking team within a busy meat processing facility. This role is hands-on and critical to ensuring the smooth, safe, and efficient operation of the plant. About the Role: You will be responsible for maintaining all aspects of the plant (excluding electrical work), ensuring equipment is running optimally, and addressing any issues that may arise. Key Responsibilities: • Perform routine maintenance tasks on equipment and machinery to ensure optimal performance and prevent breakdowns. • Conduct regular inspections of the plant to identify potential hazards or areas for improvement. • Develop and implement procedures to minimize downtime and optimize production. • Collaborate with other team members to resolve technical issues and improve overall efficiency. • Maintain accurate records of work performed, including maintenance logs and equipment histories. • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the overall performance of the plant. Requirements: • 3+ years' experience as a Maintenance Engineer or similar role. • Strong understanding of mechanical systems and equipment operation. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. • Valid driver's license (essential for this role).
