We are looking for a Mainframe AS400/RPG Developer to be included in an important project in the IBM i (AS400) environment.

Role Mission

The Mainframe AS400/RPG Developer will be responsible for the development, maintenance, and evolution of software applications in the IBM i (AS400) environment.

The resource will be involved in technical analysis, evolutionary development, application maintenance, and user support activities, collaborating with project teams to ensure the continuity and efficiency of existing solutions.

The role involves constant interaction with technical and functional stakeholders, contributing to the evolution of applications and integration with external systems.

⚙️ Main Responsibilities

• Development and maintenance of applications in the IBM i (AS400) environment
• Technical analysis of requirements and translation of needs into application solutions
• Analysis and resolution of application anomalies and issues
• Development and maintenance of programs in RPG IV / RPG ILE
• Use of CL for managing processes and functionalities of the IBM i environment
• Management and querying of DB2 for i databases
• Use of Query/400 for analysis and data extraction activities
• Management and monitoring of batch processes

Required Skills

• Experience in the development and maintenance of applications in the IBM i (AS400) environment
• Excellent knowledge of RPG IV / RPG ILE
• Good knowledge of CL
• Excellent knowledge of DB2 for i
• Knowledge of Query/400
• Experience in technical analysis and evolutionary development activities
• Experience in application support and software issue management
• Knowledge of batch processes
• Experience in integrating applications with external systems

⭐ Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of SQL Embedded
• Experience with Web Services
• Knowledge of API Integration
• Experience with integrations between legacy systems and modern platforms
• Experience in projects in the banking, insurance, or industrial sectors

The position is classified within the CCNL Commercio e Terziario applied by our company. The placement within the range will be defined based on technical skills, specific experience in the role, and the outcomes of the selection process, according to objective and neutral criteria.

Salary Ranges

Mainframe AS400/RPG Developer Middle (3–5 years of experience): €35,000 – €40,000

Mainframe AS400/RPG Developer Senior (5+ years of experience): €40,000 – €45,000

In the presence of profiles with exceptional characteristics compared to the indicated range, a review may be considered subject to internal approval.
