Job Description

As a Supply and Inventory Management Officer, you ensure that the right materials and goods are available at the right time for the Royal Netherlands Navy. You manage inventory, check deliveries, process issues, and monitor the quality of warehouse items. This prevents delays in maintenance and daily operations and helps keep ships and units operationally deployable. Your work ensures that personnel and equipment have what they need to carry out their tasks safely.

In this role, you combine practical warehouse work with inventory management and administration. You receive goods, check deliveries, and ensure correct storage. You also issue items to users, take back materials, and meticulously process all movements in the administration.

You monitor inventory and track backorders, return obligations, and any damage procedures. Additionally, you manage various specialized equipment, including measuring instruments, lifting and hoisting equipment, safety equipment, and rescue equipment.

You work with automated systems for goods and inventory management. You regularly coordinate with users, planners, and other logistics and technical colleagues. You guide and coach assigned employees where necessary.

In addition to logistics tasks, you will be deployed on a rotating basis in the on-board duty cycle. This can occur both during and outside regular working hours.

• Receives, checks, and stores goods, ensuring materials are available on time and correctly.
• Manages inventory and monitors backorders to prevent shortages and delays as much as possible.
• Issues and receives items, resulting in up-to-date and reliable administration.
• Manages specialized equipment and performs inventory checks according to established procedures.
• Keeps warehouses safe, clean, and organized, and ensures correct storage of goods.
• Manages hazardous materials according to regulations and ensures safe and environmentally responsible storage.

Flexibility is important for this role. You may be deployed within one or more maintenance groups and, depending on the work, may work outside regular hours or at other locations.

Job Requirements

• You have a completed MBO-3 or MBO-4 education in logistics.
• You have experience with supply, inventory management, or warehouse operations.
• You can work meticulously with inventory administration and automated systems.
• You have knowledge of logistics processes and procedures.
• You work safely, accurately, and with environmental awareness.
• You possess VCA VOL certification or are willing to obtain it.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with the management of specialized or technical materials.
• Experience with hazardous materials and associated storage regulations.
• Experience in guiding or coaching colleagues.

Department Description
