Machine Maintenance Electrician

A leading manufacturing company based in Bellville, Cape Town is seeking a skilled Machine Maintenance Electrician to join their team. This role requires a strong background in electrical maintenance within a fast-paced production environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring optimal performance of plant machinery, reducing downtime, and supporting the facility’s efficiency and safety. If you have solid hands-on experience in equipment installation, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance in a manufacturing setting, we would like to hear from you!

Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs on production machinery.
• Diagnose and resolve electrical, mechanical, and control system faults.
• Replace and repair faulty wiring, motors, sensors, and other components to minimize downtime.
• Install and commission new equipment as required.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and reports of work carried out.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and maintain a clean, safe working environment.
• Collaborate with production teams to minimize disruptions and improve machine performance.

Requirements

• Matric/Grade 12 or equivalent qualification.
• Trade Test Certificate as an Electrician (essential).
• Proven experience in machine maintenance within a manufacturing/industrial environment.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, PLC fault finding, and basic mechanical skills.
• Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and manuals.
• Sound troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• A proactive, safety-conscious, and detail-oriented approach.
• Team player with strong communication abilities.
