Machine Learning Engineer (m/f/d)

Your Mission

You bring machine learning and AI systems from prototype into clean, robust production.

At Agentur Philipp, we build AI solutions for small and medium-sized businesses that measurably reduce workload: Computer Vision, intelligent document processing, RAG systems, language and automation solutions.

For this, we are looking for a Machine Learning Engineer who can not only train models but also build, integrate, test, and operate them as reliable systems.

Responsibilities

Your Tasks

• You develop and productionize machine learning and deep learning models for real customer problems.
• You build computer vision solutions for image, video, and document processing, for example with OpenCV, YOLO, OCR, or Vision Language Models.
• You develop and integrate RAG and LLM systems that reliably work with company-internal data.
• You develop Python services and APIs, for example with FastAPI, and integrate them into our customer solutions.
• You cleanly set up training, fine-tuning, inference, evaluation, and monitoring for models.
• You ensure reproducible, maintainable, and secure deployments with Docker and Linux.
• You optimize inference and infrastructure for performance, cost, and reliability.
• You work closely with data scientists, developers, and delivery teams to transform functional requirements into production-ready systems.
• You document architecture, interfaces, and operational logic so that others in the team can build upon them.

What you bring

• Very good Python skills and practical experience with PyTorch, TensorFlow, or comparable ML frameworks.
• Experience in deploying ML or deep learning models in real applications.
• Practical experience with computer vision, such as OpenCV, YOLO, object detection, segmentation, OCR, or image classification.
• Experience with LLMs and RAG systems, including embeddings, vector databases, retrieval, and evaluation.
• Experience with Docker, Linux, and operating services or data pipelines.
• Experience with APIs and backend development, ideally FastAPI.
• You think in terms of tests, error cases, logging, monitoring, and repeatability. A notebook alone is not a finished product for you.
• You work independently, pragmatically, and take technical responsibility.
• German C1

This is a plus, but not a must

• Experience with MLOps, such as MLflow, CI/CD, Kubernetes, Terraform, or model monitoring.
• Experience with ONNX, TensorRT, GPU inference, quantization, or fine-tuning.
• Experience with AWS, Azure, GCP, or local GPU and on-premise deployments.
• Experience with document AI, PDF extraction, OCR, or multimodal models.
• Experience with JavaScript or Node.js for integration into product and automation systems.
