Logistics, Operations Controller

JOB SUMMARY
A client of ours is seeking an Operations Controller to support the coordination and execution of day to day logistics activities. This includes documentation management, communication with customers and suppliers, and ensuring operational readiness across shipments and site activities. The role suits someone organised, proactive, and comfortable working in a hands on logistics environment.

THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT
In order to be shortlisted for the vacancy, the successful candidate will have the following skills and competencies, but not limited to:-

• Diploma or higher in Shipping, Port Management, Transport and Logistics or a related field
• At least two years of experience in the shipping or logistics industry
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Teamwork and collaboration abilities
• Experience attending port or site operations is beneficial
• Exposure to documentation for project or over dimensional cargo is an advantage

JOB DESCRIPTION
The role responsibilities will include, but not limited to:-

• Monitor new pre alert shipments and ensure all documentation and compliance requirements are met
• Support planning, coordinating, and executing operational processes
• Maintain accurate records, files, and operation related documentation
• Prepare reports, updates, and correspondence for ongoing shipments
• Respond to customer and supplier queries in coordination with the Manager or Sales Head
• Coordinate loading and unloading activities and ensure correct documentation is in place
• Attend operations on site and in ports when required
