Ideal Candidate

RoleManaging the logistics and fleet for a chain of Indian Sweets outlets involves juggling various responsibilities to ensure smooth operations.
Fleet Management:
  1. Vehicle Acquisition: Procuring suitable vehicles based on load capacity, distance requirements, and terrain.
  2. Maintenance Schedules: Implementing regular maintenance to keep vehicles in optimal condition and minimize breakdowns.
  3. Route Optimization: Planning efficient routes to minimize fuel consumption and delivery time.
  4. Driver Management: Hiring, training, and supervising drivers, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and delivery schedules.
  5. Tracking Systems: Implementing GPS or other tracking systems to monitor vehicle location and optimize delivery routes in real-time.
Logistics:
  1. Inventory Management: Overseeing stock levels at each outlet and coordinating restocking to prevent shortages.
  2. Supply Chain Coordination: Liaising with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of ingredients and materials.
  3. Quality Control: Implementing checks to maintain the quality and freshness of products during transportation.
  4. Regulatory Compliance: Ensuring compliance with transportation regulations and food safety standards.
  5. Cost Optimization: Finding ways to reduce transportation costs without compromising quality or efficiency.
Technology Integration:
  1. Fleet Management Software: Implementing software for tracking, scheduling, and managing vehicle maintenance.
  2. Inventory Software: Using inventory management systems to track stock levels and streamline ordering processes.
  3. Communication Platforms: Utilizing communication tools for efficient coordination between outlets, drivers, and suppliers.
Sustainability Initiatives:
  1. Optimizing Routes: Minimizing carbon footprint by planning eco-friendly delivery routes.
  2. Vehicle Efficiency: Exploring options for using electric or hybrid vehicles to reduce emissions.
  3. Packaging Solutions: Implementing sustainable packaging for sweets to align with environmental goals.
Continuous Improvement:
  1. Data Analysis: Analyzing delivery data to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement.
  2. Feedback Mechanisms: Gathering feedback from outlets, customers, and delivery personnel for process enhancement.
  3. Training and Development: Providing ongoing training to staff for improved logistics and fleet management practices.
Crisis Management:
  1. Contingency Planning: Creating contingency plans for unexpected events affecting logistics, such as vehicle breakdowns or supplier issues.
  2. Risk Assessment: Assessing potential risks in the supply chain and developing strategies to mitigate them.
  3. Adaptability: Being agile in response to unforeseen circumstances, adjusting routes or schedules as needed.

Candidate:
  • 3+ years of proven experience in Logistics in Food / restaurant / food processing industry
Prior experience in cost reduction / process improvement
