Logistics Manager-Building Materials

The Company:

The company is a specialized producer and supplier of metal building materials.

The Role:

The future Logistics Manager will improve the activity of the Logistics Department. This role requires a dynamic leader who can direct the operational activity towards excellence, ensuring that products are consistently of the highest quality, delivered on time and produced efficiently.

The Logistics Manager is in charge of the Logistics Department and reports directly to the General Manager.

The position will be based in Calarasi County, in the catchment area of Bucharest.

Responsibilities:

• being in charge of Inventory Management: monitoring and managing inventory levels to ensure adequate stock availability, avoiding surplus and minimizing losses
• being in charge of Transportation Coordination: organizing and managing the transportation of materials and products, including selecting optimal routes, managing carriers and tracking deliveries
• communicating and collaborating closely with the commercial department to ensure that all orders are delivered in full and on time, efficiently managing the flow of materials and products to meet customer requirements
• managing the Logistics Department, starting from annual planning of objectives and allocating the resources necessary to achieve them to executing plans and managing expenses
• managing the organizational chart, developing job descriptions, implementing procedures and safety measures at the workplace, evaluating employees to ensure a competent and motivated staff
• identifying and implementing methods and processes that reduce the loss of time and resources in logistics operations, thus improving the overall efficiency of the activity
• informing the Managing Director/ Production Manager about any critical situation that could affect the smooth running of the logistics activity and identifying appropriate solutions for their management
• assessing constantly the training needs of logistics personnel and implementing training programs to improve their skills and knowledge, thus contributing to increasing the performance of the department
• being responsible for managing all documents of internal or external origin used in the logistics department, ensuring that they are drawn up and kept in accordance with applicable standards and regulations
• elaborating reports to the Responsible Person any incident that may affect product quality, traceability
• being actively involved in the implementation of actions provided for in the KAIZEN Management System program, focusing on eliminating losses, improving efficiency and maximizing value-added activities within logistics processes
• reporting the activity according to the reporting package and internal procedures, aiming to achieve objectives

The Ideal Candidate:

• Relevant experience in logistic area within a company having its own manufacturing production
• Experience within Building Material sector would be a plus
• Knowledge of management and distribution activities
• Knowledge of logistics software and tools
• Experience in an information system (ERP)
• University degree
• Speaks and writes fluently in Romanian and English language
