Job Description

We are looking for a reliable and motivated Linux System Administrator to join our team at iCore, working from our Brașov office (hybrid).

You will be involved in the administration of Linux servers for one of the largest online web archiving platforms in Europe, operated for a major client based in the Netherlands. The platform serves high-profile customers such as government institutions (municipalities, water boards, provinces, ministries, universities) as well as banks and insurance companies.

The infrastructure is hosted in datacenters in Amsterdam, and stability, security, and data integrity are critical.

Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain Linux servers (AlmaLinux)
• Debug web archiving processes, including WARC and CDX files, and replay archived web pages
• Manage and support PHP-based frontends and reverse proxy configurations
• Test new versions of applications and deploy updates across servers
• Research, test, and evaluate new tools and solutions
• Verify, analyze, and troubleshoot application and system log files
• Create and maintain regular expression rules
• Monitor servers, services, and archiving processes
• Develop custom scripts for the Nagios monitoring system
• Work with FTP services for data transfers
• Create and maintain technical documentation

• Knowledge of web archiving technologies:

• Automation & virtualization:

  • Docker
• Database knowledge: MySQL / MariaDB
• Scripting & development basics:

  • PHP, HTML
  • Regular expressions
• Data formats: XML, JSON
• Strong analytical thinking and advanced troubleshooting skills

• Good communication skills in English (written & spoken)

• Minimum 2 year of experience in Linux server administration
