Your Areas of Responsibility

  • Planning, installation, configuration, and commissioning of Linux servers and Linux-based systems

  • Planning and execution of regular system updates, security updates, and upgrades of Linux-based systems

  • Installation, configuration, and maintenance of application software and system services

  • Configuration and monitoring of firewalls

  • Monitoring, analysis, and optimization of system performance, as well as ensuring availability

  • Troubleshooting and resolution of faults in the server and infrastructure environment

  • Management and maintenance of virtual environments

  • Automation of recurring administration and operational tasks using scripts

  • Creation and maintenance of technical documentation and operating instructions

  • Support in the planning and implementation of IT infrastructure projects

  • Implementation of security policies and support for backup and recovery concepts

  • Collaboration with internal departments



Your Profile

  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Natural Sciences, or IT Specialist (m/f/d) System Integration or Application Development

  • Several years of practical professional experience in the administration of Linux systems (e.g., Debian, Ubuntu, Red Hat, Rocky Linux, or comparable)

  • Very good knowledge in the installation, operation, maintenance, and error analysis of Linux servers

  • Experience in handling system updates, upgrades, and patch management

  • In-depth knowledge in the automation of administration tasks

  • Proficient in Shell scripting, especially Bash

  • Good programming or scripting skills in Python

  • Experience with network services and common server services (e.g., DNS, DHCP, web servers, databases, SNMP, Samba, NFS)

  • Knowledge in the areas of IT security, monitoring, and backup and recovery procedures

  • Experience with the virtualization platform Proxmox VE / KVM / Quemu

  • Experience with hardware and software-based firewalls

  • Knowledge of Perl and/or PHP

  • Experience with configuration and automation tools (e.g., Saltstack, Ansible)

  • Knowledge in handling containers and container technologies (Docker, Podman, or Kubernetes)

  • Experience with high availability and cluster solutions
