Linux Administrator (m/w/d) / Virtualization

As an IT system administrator with a focus on Linux and virtualization environments, you are responsible for the operational technical maintenance of complex server landscapes and virtualization and container environments in our data center at the Magdeburg location.

Tasks

• Provisioning, implementation, and operation of virtualization platforms and server systems (Linux)
• Management and troubleshooting of server landscapes
• Safeguarding of data security and privacy
• Resource monitoring and planning
• System monitoring and availability monitoring
• Update and patch management
• Integration of server systems into the existing DMZ and network infrastructure
• Problem analysis and solution
• Maintenance of application servers and user support
• User administration, including rights management
• Creation and maintenance of operational documentation

Qualification

• Successful completion of training as a computer scientist or completed studies in the field of IT; alternatively: several years of professional experience in the field
• Fundamental experience as an IT system administrator, with a focus on Linux
• In-depth experience with operating virtualization and container environments, preferably Kubernetes and Docker
• Knowledge in the area of network infrastructure
• Basic knowledge in the area of IT security, virus protection, firewall
• Deep understanding of the environment for deployment automation and DevOps, advantageous
• Independent and responsible working style
• Able to analyze problems and solve them effectively
• Communication and team skills
• Interest in continuous professional development and willingness to learn new topics
