Job description

We are looking for an experienced Domain- and Solution-Architect for the Load-Frequency-Control (LFC) area in the context of critical infrastructure of the energy supply. In this role, you are responsible for designing, controlling, and ensuring the quality of the domain architecture within a complex IT ecosystem and advise stakeholders on the implementation of strategic architectural guidelines.

Your tasks

• Creation of target and transition architectures for the LFC domain, taking into account professional requirements and strategic guidelines

• Derivation of architecture concepts and high-level solutions as well as analysis of architecture options to meet project requirements

• Ensuring compliance with architectural principles, standards, and guidelines through the conduct of reviews and validation of non-functional requirements

• Communication and mediation of architectural decisions to relevant stakeholders and advice on product selection

• Identification and management of risks related to architectures, technologies, and dependencies between different domains

• Building and maintaining architecture artifacts as well as ensuring a complete documentation in central repositories

• Participation in the definition and further development of architectural standards, principles, and modeling frameworks

• Observation of technology trends and vendor roadmaps to strategically align the domain architecture

• Support for planning and execution of projects through architectural guidance and quality assurance throughout the entire lifecycle

Must-Requirements

• At least 6 years of relevant professional experience in an architecture role in the context of software for critical infrastructure (KRITIS), preferably in the energy supply and system management area

• Comprehensive knowledge of the professional requirements of a transmission system operator (TSO) for system management, including their impact on IT infrastructures and software architectures

• Specific expertise in the field of Load-Frequency-Control (LFC) or frequency control

• Experience in the entire architecture lifecycle from design to implementation to productive operation

• Proven experience in individual software development and system integration in the energy sector KRITIS environment

• Experience in designing and operating cloud-native software on OT/IT real-time platforms

• Expertise in designing interfaces and processes for accessing data and APIs from network operation devices of a transmission system operator

• Experience in implementing information security requirements and security gates

• Security in applying architectural standards, architecture governance, and creating architecture artifacts and documentation

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Energy, or Business Administration/IT or a comparable qualification

• German language skills at mother tongue level as well as fluent English language skills in writing and speaking

• Willingness to undergo security clearance (SÜG)

• Proof of at least two personal references: one in the DACH region and one focusing on individual software development/system integration in the energy sector or critical infrastructure

Can-Requirements

• Relevant experience as a software developer or architect for system management software from well-known providers such as PSI, DIgSILENT, or Siemens

• More than 10 years of professional experience in a relevant architecture role
