Level 2 Teaching Assistant

Level 2 Teaching Assistant – Secondary School (Blackpool) Full-time | Immediate Start We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Level 2 Teaching Assistant to join a supportive secondary school in the Blackpool area. This is a full-time role working with a Year 8 pupil with ASD, starting as soon as possible. Key Responsibilities: Provide tailored 1:1 support to a Year 8 pupil with ASD, ensuring they are engaged and supported in their learning. Work alongside the class teacher and SENCO to implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and develop strategies for supporting pupils with special educational needs. Assist with preparing and delivering lessons, including setting up materials and equipment, as well as providing feedback and encouragement to pupils. Support the development of pupil's social skills through group work and activities. Collaborate with other teaching assistants and support staff to ensure a consistent approach to supporting pupils. Provide administrative support to the SENCO and class teacher, including maintaining accurate records and filing systems. Key Requirements: Ability to work effectively as part of a team, demonstrating excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong understanding of special educational needs and how to adapt teaching strategies to meet individual pupil's needs. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion. Ability to work flexibly and be adaptable in a fast-paced environment. Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively. Ability to provide emotional support and guidance to pupils, as well as their parents and carers.
