Level 2 - SOC Analyst (m/w/d)

Role Description

As a SOC Analyst L2, you will work in the operational core of our Managed SOC. You will form part of our SOC team and serve as the escalation instance for more complex security incidents and analysis cases.

Together with SOC Level 1, you will analyze and evaluate security alerts, incidents, and anomalies with increased complexity, support in recognizing and containing attacks, and bring your experience actively into the development of our detection and analysis capabilities.

Tasks

Your Tasks

• Analyzing and evaluating security alerts, incidents, and anomalies with increased complexity
• Facilitating support for SOC Level 1 in escalations and complex analysis cases
• Correlating and analyzing events from SIEM-, EDR-, network-, and log data
• Analyzing attack patterns, vulnerabilities, and potential impacts
• Advising on containment-, mitigation-, and response measures
• Creating technical assessments, situation reports, and action recommendations
• Developing detection logic, use cases, and analysis processes
• Participating in the continuous improvement of processes and service quality

Qualification

You Bring This Along

• Professional experience in a SOC, CERT, or comparable operational security environment
• Good knowledge in analyzing security events and security incidents
• Solid technical understanding in several of the following areas: networks and protocols; Windows- and/or Linux-based systems; log analysis and monitoring; SIEM-, EDR-, or detection-related tools; attack patterns and vulnerabilities
• Experience with detection rules, use cases, or playbooks
• Able to document and communicate technical matters clearly
• Very good German language skills
• Teamwork ability and engagement

• Experience in SOC Level 2 or comparable operational roles
• Experience with OT-, ICS-, or SCADA environments
• Knowledge of BSI, KRITIS, NIS2
• Experience in the KRITIS environment or regulated industries
• Good English language skills
