Your Responsibilities

• Responsibility for cantonal-wide payroll processing for approximately 11,000 employees, including monthly and annual closing, as well as payroll and social security-related control processes
• Personnel, technical, and organizational leadership of the four-person team, as well as continuous development of the specialist area
• Strategic further development of payroll and social security systems as well as SAP HCM
• Consultation and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders
• Leadership and participation in cantonal-wide projects, as well as implementation of legal, organizational, and technical innovations
• Ensuring compliance, quality, and process responsibility, as well as continuous optimization of specialist processes

Your Background

• Completed commercial apprenticeship with further education in the HR, payroll, or social security sector
• Several years of professional and leadership experience in payroll and social security, ideally in a complex organization
• Very good knowledge of SAP HCM, as well as high IT affinity and interest in digitalization and process optimization
• Experience in leading and implementing projects, as well as in developing processes and systems
• Strong business management understanding, as well as analytical and conceptual skills

The Personnel Office of the Canton of Basel-Landschaft is part of the Directorate of Finance and Churches and is responsible for the uniform and strategic direction of HR management within the cantonal administration.
The HR Service Center (DLZ) is responsible for personnel administration, HR support, and payroll processing – including the settlement of social security contributions for all administrative units of the canton.
