Head of Financial Accounting (m/f/d)

For an established medium-sized company in the manufacturing sector in the Eisenach region, we are looking for a personality who is deeply rooted in accounting and eager to take on responsibility.

Perhaps you know this: The numbers are correct, the bookings are made, and yet it requires someone who keeps the big picture in view. Someone who recognizes connections, asks questions, makes decisions, and occasionally says: "We can solve this better."

This exact role is to be filled anew.

You will take responsibility for financial accounting, lead a small team, and at the same time remain closely involved in the daily business from a technical perspective. We are not looking for a pure manager, but someone who enjoys shaping things and is willing to pitch in themselves when necessary.

Responsibilities

• Your responsibilities
• Monthly and annual financial statements as well as balance sheets according to HGB (German Commercial Code)
• Responsibility for general ledger and ongoing financial accounting
• Reconciliation with subsidiary ledgers
• Account reconciliations and year-end closing entries
• Determination and booking of provisions and accruals/deferrals
• Booking of asset additions and disposals
• Monitoring and participation in payroll accounting
• Cooperation with tax advisors, auditors, tax offices, and social security institutions
• Technical and disciplinary leadership of two team members
• Further development of commercial processes and workflows
• Creation of commercial evaluations
• Close collaboration with management

Qualifications

You will lead a three-person team in the future and at the same time have the opportunity to actively develop structures and processes.

You will remain close to the numbers. You know the general ledger, understand what is important for the annual financial statements, can confidently read a balance sheet, and understand the commercial interrelationships of a manufacturing company.

We are looking for a hands-on leader who formulates clear expectations, remains approachable to the team, and takes responsibility themselves.

Further development of the systems used is also part of this. An affinity for DATEV and ERP systems is therefore explicitly welcome. The company uses proALPHA.

What you bring:
a commercial apprenticeship
-ideally further training as a Certified Accountant (IHK), Tax Specialist, or a comparable qualification
-several years of experience in financial and balance sheet accounting
-profound knowledge in balance sheet accounting and annual financial statements according to HGB
-experience with general ledger and year-end closing entries
-ideally knowledge of payroll accounting
-a structured and reliable way of working
-autonomy and decisiveness
-eagerness to take on responsibility and further develop processes

-Experience in a medium-sized manufacturing company is particularly well-suited for this position.
