Job description
About Buena
Buena digitizes property management in Germany. We take over traditional property management companies and transform them into modern, technology-driven businesses, with the goal of making real estate management simple and transparent.
Your Role
You will build our accounting from the ground up. You will develop the processes, design the systems, and assemble a lean team step by step. You will also be involved operationally and be responsible for correct HGB financial statements for all companies and for the group. You will report directly to the CFO. Our group is growing through acquisitions, and what you build must keep pace with this growth. You decide how accounting works at Buena.
What You Will Do
Setup. You will build a central accounting department for all German companies step by step. To do this, you will define the target state and roadmap, take over tasks from external service providers, and manage collaboration with them.
Processes. You will set up uniform processes from accounts payable to year-end closing, including a fixed closing calendar, and reduce manual steps.
Integration of New Companies. You will build the systems and processes with which we quickly and precisely integrate newly acquired companies.
Systems. You will be responsible for DATEV and LucaNet and design the data model, chart of accounts, mapping, validations, and authorizations.
Individual Financial Statements. You will review the individual financial statements of all companies for correctness and adherence to deadlines, so that they form a reliable basis for consolidation. Where necessary, you will handle closing entries, reconciliations, and intercompany clarifications yourself.
Consolidation. You will build the HGB consolidation in LucaNet, with monthly group figures that can withstand an audit, as well as a group chart of accounts and accounting policies.
Auditors and Consultants. You will be the first point of contact for auditors and tax advisors and will implement audit findings.
Team. You will build the team step by step and decide which tasks remain in-house and which are outsourced.
You Are a Good Fit If
You have prepared HGB group financial statements yourself, not just coordinated or audited them, preferably in a group with many subsidiaries.
You are a LucaNet expert and have set up a consolidation there yourself, from data import from DATEV to reporting.
You have a deep understanding of DATEV and have set up and managed many clients with a uniform structure.
You have built an accounting department with processes and systems yourself, not just improved them.
You have built and managed a team.
You identify errors in individual financial statements before they enter the consolidation.
You were the primary contact person for closing audits and implemented findings.
You work quickly and accurately, even under closing pressure.
You act quickly in unclear situations.
You design solutions and implement them yourself, without waiting for templates or input.
You have studied Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance, or have equivalent qualifications. Certified Accountant, Tax Specialist, Tax Advisor, or Auditor are an advantage.
You speak German very well and English well.
What You Get
Up to €500 proximity bonus if you live (or move) within a 10-20 minute walk of the office.
€110 per month lunch budget and €50 per month fitness allowance.
€1,200 annual training budget.
Free books: Buena pays for any book you wish to read.
