Leader Commercial Property Insurance / Underwriting & Portfolio (m/w/d)

We are looking for an experienced leader to lead a business unit in the commercial property insurance segment.

Tasks

Your Task

• Strategic and operational leadership of a business unit in the commercial property insurance segment.
• Conceptual development and market-oriented positioning of the business field.
• Development of portfolio management, underwriting guidelines, and credit policies in line with the company's and department's strategy.
• Preparation of regular reports for senior management and derivation of well-founded decisions based on relevant key figures.
• Planning and implementation of measures to increase revenue and profitability.
• Organization, coordination, and optimization of business processes as well as steering the department according to qualitative and quantitative KPIs.
• Establishment and consistent implementation of the acceptance policy in the commercial property insurance segment.
• Factual support for sales at complex customer and risk situations.
• Promotion and expansion of important business relationships, as well as close cooperation with internal and external stakeholders.
• Pioneering innovation, digitalization, and transformation projects within your area of responsibility.

Qualification

Your Profile

• A successful degree in business administration with a focus on insurance or a comparable qualification.
• Multiple years of professional experience in the commercial property or industrial insurance segment.
• Fundamental understanding of underwriting, portfolio management, acceptance policy, and credit policies.
• Leadership experience is an advantage, alternatively convincing leadership potential and competence in dealing with change processes.
• Knowledge in project management, ideally also in scaled agile projects.
• Pleasure for innovations as well as joy in digitalization and further development of existing business models.
• Outstanding analytical and conceptual skills as well as entrepreneurial thinking.
• Extraordinary willingness to engage, organizational strength, and high implementation orientation.
• Sovereign appearance, communication strength, and the ability to effectively integrate sales, departments, and management.
• Solution-oriented personality with pleasure in shaping, responsibility, and challenging change processes.
