Responsibilities
- You will lead the Legal unit with 3 employees (functionally/disciplinarily), report directly to the Head of the Market Follow-up Business Unit, and be responsible for the areas of Law and Processing, as well as the quality of work and the further development of the team.
- Your tasks include advising and supporting the Management Board, branches, and internal departments on all legal issues. This also includes the reliable legal assessment of complex and difficult situations, including those from the credit sector.
- You will be responsible for handling legal matters in which claims are asserted against the Sparkasse.
- You will undertake the assessment of internal legal questions, with particular consideration of risk aspects.
- You will proactively track and assess case law/legislative changes for their relevance and implement them in the Sparkasse as needed.
- You will independently handle the processing of significant commercial credit exposures.
Profile
- You are a business lawyer or a graduate jurist with a 1st state examination (m/f/d) or have completed law studies (2nd state examination) and/or have several years of successful professional experience in the legal department of a Sparkasse or bank.
- You possess:
- good knowledge of banking law, enforcement law, insolvency law, and other typical legal issues (excluding labor law)
- knowledge of the entire Sparkasse and banking business
- a high level of analytical thinking, the ability to make appropriate risk assessments regarding legal issues, and to reach sound decisions based on a risk/opportunity assessment
- Knowledge of analyzing the economic situation of companies in crisis and experience in corporate restructuring are desirable
- You are:
- a persuasive, negotiating, and assertive personality with high social competence and the ability to lead your team individually
- resilient and proactive with good decision-making skills
