We are looking for an experienced finance professional to strategically and operationally elevate our finance department. As Head of Finance, you will be responsible for the entire finance function – from accounting and controlling to treasury and reporting – and shape the consistent digitalization and professionalization of our financial processes actively with.

You will report directly to the management board and act as a commercial sparring partner for the three shareholders. Your team currently consists of three operational accountants, which you will develop into a modern controlling and finance team.

YOUR TASKS

Strategic Responsibility

• Overall responsibility for accounting, finance, and controlling with a direct reporting line to the management board
• Commercial sparring for the management board and shareholders – establishing the finance department as an internal service provider and strategic partner for all departments
• Development and implementation of a finance roadmap: process optimization, digitalization, and system replacement
• Accompaniment of financing rounds

Operative Excellence

• Preliminary preparation and accompaniment of monthly and annual financial statements according to HGB for approximately 8 companies, including consolidation of 2 companies – in close cooperation with the external auditor
• Liquidity planning and control, including active cash management with banks
• Preparation of internal monthly reports, deviation analyses, and derivation of concrete action recommendations
• Preparation of evaluations for B2B and B2C sales

Transformation & Digitalization

• Transition to preliminary accounting and partial outsourcing of operational accounting – with the goal of freeing up internal resources for controlling and analysis
• Development and expansion of controlling and reporting structures to sustainably increase corporate transparency
• Setup of a BI solution with MS Power BI (possibly with external support)
• Integration of cash management systems, e-commerce backend, and ERP system
• Occupation with state-of-the-art AI solutions and application possibilities in the finance department

Leadership & Development

• Professional and personal development of the team – from operational accounting team to a modern finance and controlling unit

Qualification

YOUR PROFILE

Professional Qualifications

• Completed business studies with a focus on finance/controlling – alternatively, a commercial education with further qualification (e.g., certified accountant IHK) and comparable career path
• At least 8 years of professional experience in finance, including several years of operational experience according to HGB
• First leadership experience or demonstrated experience in leading a team
• Experience with modern financial accounting software (e.g., DATEV), ideally expertise in introducing new systems with interfaces to e-commerce, ERP, or sales partners
• Proficient in MS Excel and ideally experience with MS Power BI
• Very good German and English skills
