Head of ERP System (m/f/d) Publishing

In this position, you will be responsible for the further development and reliable operation of central business applications in the publishing environment and will lead a team that drives the digitalization and optimization of operational processes. You will analyze existing processes, identify potential for improvement, and coordinate the implementation of new requirements in close coordination with the business departments, IT, and external technology partners. In doing so, you will ensure efficient system workflows, high data quality, and sustainable application solutions. A versatile leadership role awaits you, in which you can contribute your technical expertise, develop employees, and actively shape the digital transformation of the system landscape.

Your Responsibilities

• Responsibility for the technical and disciplinary leadership of the team, as well as the promotion of individual competencies and collective performance
• Ensuring the reliable operation of central business systems and actively shaping their functional and technical further development
• Analysis and improvement of operational processes along the value chain, from contract and remuneration processes, order processing and accounting, to distribution and event management
• Coordination of technical requirements, evaluation of implementation possibilities, and agreement on priorities with internal stakeholders and external technology partners
• Accompanying software changes, testing procedures, and production go-lives, taking into account data quality, process security, and applicable guidelines
• Establishment of efficient documentation standards, safeguarding of know-how, and promotion of cross-departmental collaboration

Your Profile

• Several years of experience in the support, administration, or further development of ERP solutions and operational application systems
• Knowledge of relevant publishing software such as Klopotek is particularly welcome
• In-depth understanding of commercial processes in the publishing or education environment, especially regarding contract management, remuneration, invoicing, dispatch, and event organization
• Familiarity with data flows, interfaces, and system integrations, as well as the ability to translate business requirements into practical technical solutions
• Demonstrated experience in leading or managing employees, combined with a appreciative leadership style and strong communication skills
• Analytical thinking, a structured and solution-oriented approach, as well as a keen sense for priorities and viable decisions
• Confident collaboration with various interest groups, assured demeanor towards business departments and management
