Head of Development and Production (m/f/d)

The development and production of our heat pumps and energy systems are among the core value-adding areas of our company. For their further development, we are seeking a technically strong leadership personality who combines operational proximity with strategic foresight.

The position is part of our management team, reports directly to the managing director, and leads a total of twelve employees, including one manager.

Responsibilities

Your Responsibility

• You lead and develop the Research & Development and Production departments with clear goals, priorities, and responsibilities.
• You consolidate and evaluate requirements from management, product management, sales, system construction, and service. From this, you derive clear priorities for your teams and ensure realistic resource and capacity planning.
• Together with management, product management, and sales, you translate market and customer requirements into technical development decisions and a robust product roadmap.
• You are responsible for our technical development projects from the idea through design, prototypes, and testing to series readiness and oversee their successful transfer to production.
• You ensure efficient, quality-oriented, and economical production at the Marl site as well as with our strategic production partners.
• You keep an eye on technological and regulatory developments and represent our technical interests within the international YANMAR Group.
• You initiate innovation projects, especially in the area of industrial heat pump applications, and develop unique technical selling propositions for our future market position.
• In key projects, new product launches, and complex technical problems, you also contribute operationally as needed.
• You continuously develop structures, processes, and interfaces between product management, development, production, sales, system construction, and service.

Qualifications

Your Potential

• Your technical foundation is a degree in a technical or engineering field, such as refrigeration and air conditioning technology, building services engineering, energy technology, technical building equipment, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or automation technology. Alternatively, you have a comparable qualification as a technician or master craftsman.
• You have many years of professional experience in refrigeration, heating, energy, or thermal process engineering and possess in-depth knowledge of refrigeration systems. Experience with heat pumps is particularly welcome.
• You have worked for several years in development, design, or technical product responsibility, and have accompanied technical solutions to production or market readiness.
• You have leadership experience and can effectively manage diverse technical teams through clear goals, priorities, and decisions.
• You combine technical depth with a good understanding of customer requirements, quality, manufacturing costs, and economic efficiency.
• You work strategically and structurally, while maintaining proximity to the product, production, and operational implementation.
• You communicate confidently in German and can also communicate well in English within the international corporate environment.
• Occasional travel to customers, partners, technical committees, and sites is part of your responsibility.
