Legal Counsel & Compliance Officer (m/w/d)

To strengthen our risk management department, we are looking for an experienced legal professional who will be responsible for Legal & Compliance in its entirety and accompany our company through further growth from a legal perspective.

Aufgaben

Your Role

As Legal Counsel & Compliance Officer, you will be the central point of contact for all legal and regulatory questions at Goya Finance.

You will work closely with the Market Development team, oversee our contract and compliance setup, and ensure that regulatory requirements are implemented in a pragmatic, effective, and future-oriented manner.

The role is clearly operational and responsible, but not a classical General Counsel or C-Level position. It is ideal for experienced lawyers who want to take on responsibility and work closely with the business.

Your Tasks

• Total responsibility for the contract law as well as legal questions of the company
• Function as Compliance Officer according to MaRisk
• Building, development, and monitoring of the Compliance Management System
• Planning, implementation, and monitoring of compliance measures
• Closely working together with the Board, Sales, Operations, and Risk
• Creating Compliance Reports, KPIs, and Presentations
• Coordinating and steering external law firms and consultants
• Analyzing legal and regulatory requirements as well as continuous process improvement

• You have several years of experience as a Legal Counsel, Compliance Officer or Lawyer in the financial sector

Qualification

What You Bring

Must-haves

• Degree in Law or equivalent legal qualification
• Multiple years of professional experience as a Legal Counsel and/or Compliance Officer
• Fundamental knowledge of banking and supervisory law (e.g. KWG, MaRisk, DSGVO)
• Experience in dealing with regulators, auditors or internal revisions
• A very structured, solution-oriented working style
• Very good German (C2) and English skills (C2)

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in the FinTech or financial services sector
• Experience in dealing with outsourced processes
• Interest in prospective professional or disciplinary further development
