Ngā kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role
The Waikato Management School invites applications for a Lecturer in Accounting with a specialisation in Artificial Intelligence. Based at our Hamilton campus, this role offers an excellent opportunity to develop a strong research profile while contributing to high-quality teaching and postgraduate supervision in a collegial, research-active environment.
You will conduct and publish high-quality, impactful research in your specialist area, actively engaging with colleagues across the Division and the wider academic community nationally and internationally. You will teach across undergraduate and postgraduate Accounting papers and supervise Master's and PhD students, supporting them through all stages of their research journeys.
This is a full-time (37.5 hours a week) continuing position. Salary will be in the range of $90,125 to $107,452 per year, dependent on the skills, experience, and academic standing.

You will have a PhD (or be near to completion) in Accounting, or a closely related subject with demonstrated expertise in contemporary topics including Artificial Intelligence. You will apply your teaching skills, including the ability to lecture to large classes as well as conduct small group seminars and tutorials effectively.
You will demonstrate evidence of, or clear potential for, a strong research programme with outputs relevant to high-quality journals. You will be able to teach effectively at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, including large lectures and small-group teaching, and show a commitment to research-informed and innovative teaching delivered both face-to-face and online.
You will have the capability and enthusiasm to supervise postgraduate research students, contributing to a supportive and inclusive research culture.
