the European School Brussels I (EEBI) – Uccle – is recruiting an:

TEACHER WITH SUPPORT QUALIFICATIONS

NURSERY AND / OR PRIMARY CYCLES

DANISH LANGUAGE SECTION

Part time – according to the needs - Fixed-term contract

EEBI is part of the European Schools system and provides education for children whose parents work for the European institutions. Our school community is made up of 4,250 pupils of 60 different nationalities and over 500 members of staff from Member States and beyond. Pupils are taught in twelve main language sections. Task:

The Learning Support Teacher provides general, moderate or intensive support to nursery or primary pupils inside or outside the classroom setting working closely with the class teachers.

Profile:

- Command of the Danish language equivalent to that of an educated native speaker;

- Appropriate diploma: diploma for teaching Support in accordance with the regulations of the Ministry of Education (diploma subject to inspector validation);

- Minimum of 2 years’ professional experience in supporting pupils with special educational needs;

- Contribution in close collaboration with the class teacher to the pupil’s assistance with respect to their specific needs in their daily school routine;

- Good knowledge of at least one other vehicular language of the European Schools (English, French, German);

- Ability to work in a multicultural and multilingual environment;

- Good communication and pedagogical skills;

- Ability to cooperate with colleagues and Management;

- Ability to work closely with the support coordinator, the school psychologist, the class teacher and support teachers;

- Good knowledge of the European Schools system.

Offer:

• Start date: as soon as possible;

• Location: Brussels, Belgium;

• Type of contract: part-time (approximately 9 hours per week, number of hours might change according to the needs), locally recruited, fixed-term contract (until 31/08/2026) which can be extended if the number of pupils allows it and if the staff member has a positive evaluation;
