Job description
We are seeking an experienced Lead Wireless Network Engineer with a strong background in designing and troubleshooting advanced wireless networks using platforms such as Aruba, Commscope, Ruckus, Extreme, and Meraki. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in Wi-Fi implementation and troubleshooting and will serve as the lead engineer for a team of 30 lower-level infrastructure engineers. Key Responsibilities: - Advanced Wireless Network Design and Deployment: Design and deploy advanced wireless networks using Aruba, Commscope, Ruckus, Extreme, and Meraki platforms. - Troubleshooting and Optimization: Troubleshoot and optimize wireless networks to ensure optimal performance and reliability. - Team Leadership: Serve as the lead engineer for a team of 30 lower-level infrastructure engineers, providing guidance and mentorship to ensure successful project execution. - Project Management: Manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks and resources to meet project deadlines and goals. - Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including network operations, IT, and facilities teams, to ensure seamless integration of wireless networks into overall network infrastructure. - Compliance: Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and company policies. - Communication: Communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders, providing clear and concise explanations of wireless network designs and implementations. - Training and Development: Stay up-to-date with the latest wireless technologies and best practices, and train and develop team members to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to support advanced wireless networks. - Quality Assurance: Ensure the quality of wireless network designs and implementations meets company standards. - Budgeting: Manage project budgets, ensuring that wireless network projects are completed within budget constraints. - Reporting: Provide regular project status reports to management, highlighting progress, issues, and recommendations for improvement. - Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to increase efficiency and effectiveness. - Knowledge Sharing: Share knowledge and best practices with team members, and contribute to the development of company-wide wireless network standards and guidelines. - Certification: Possess a valid certification in wireless networking, such as CWNE or CWTS. - Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. - Experience: Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in Wi-Fi implementation and troubleshooting. - Skills: Strong understanding of wireless networking protocols, including 802.11, 802.15, and 802.16. - Tools: Proficiency in using tools such as Wireshark, AirMagnet, and Ekahau. - Certifications: Valid certification in wireless networking, such as CWNE or CWTS. -
