Job description
This is a critical leadership role responsible for ensuring all components in a product's supply chain are delivered at the required quality and on time. The engineer will implement and manage robust quality systems to catch issues early, resolve them quickly, and guarantee the consistent delivery of high-quality components to Contract Manufacturers (CMs) supporting rapidly accelerating global markets.

Core Responsibilities
- Process Control Implementation: Implement Statistical Process Control (SPC) methods for the manufacturing process of critical parts and ensure suppliers integrate these into their process control plans.
- Rapid Issue Resolution: Lead rapid sprint analysis following production failures or inspection failures at a supplier to unblock shipments with risk-mitigative actions and implement effective preventive measures to keep production running.
- Quality Documentation: Update and implement quality control documentation based on Root Cause Analysis (RCA) from component issues identified after field failures.
- Supplier Quality Assurance: Audit new suppliers' compliance with required quality standards and work proactively with suppliers to quickly resolve any non-conformances found, especially within the China manufacturing base.
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in quality management for high-volume manufacturing, with production of electromechanical products being preferred.
- Problem Solving: Proven experience in responding to and resolving quality issues rapidly to minimize production disruption.
- Strategic Thinking: Demonstrated first principles thinking and the ability to focus on the most important issues during audits or problem review.
- Supplier Engagement: Experience in collaborating with suppliers to achieve required outcomes based on context.
- Languages: High proficiency (written, verbal, and reading) in English is required. Proficiency in Mandarin Chinese is essential for effective communication with suppliers and Contract Manufacturers in China.
- Certifications: Relevant quality-related qualifications such as ASQ certification (e.g., CQE or CQA) or formal Internal Auditor Certification are beneficial.
- Travel: Willingness to travel regularly around APAC (25%+ of time), primarily focused on the China region.
