Lead Solar PV & BESS Design Engineer for C&I IPP

A leading engineering firm in South Africa is seeking a motivated Project Design Engineer who specializes in high-quality engineering designs and project support. The successful candidate will lead the design and optimization of Solar PV and Battery Energy Systems, develop viable energy systems, and support technical assessments. Applicants should possess a relevant degree and ECSA registration, along with several years of experience in control and automation projects. This role emphasizes technical leadership, project management, and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. **Key Responsibilities:** * Lead the design of Solar PV and BESS projects for C&I IPP clients, ensuring adherence to industry standards, regulations, and best practices. * Conduct detailed site assessments, including energy yield calculations, shading analysis, and grid integration studies. * Develop and review detailed engineering designs, including system layouts, electrical diagrams, and equipment specifications. * Optimize system performance and efficiency through detailed simulations and analysis. * Prepare and present technical proposals, reports, and presentations to clients and stakeholders. * Provide technical support during project implementation, including construction supervision and commissioning. * Manage project budgets, timelines, and resources effectively. * Collaborate with other engineering disciplines, such as electrical, civil, and structural, to ensure seamless project execution. * Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, technologies, and regulations. * Mentor and guide junior engineers. **Qualifications:** * Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field. * Professional Engineer (Pr.
