Job description

*Employment Type:* Full time *Shift:* *Description:* *Lead Personal Care Assistant (PCA)* *Location: *Mercy LIFE Valley View, Elwyn, PA *Status: *Full time *Shift: *Sun – Thur OR Tues to Sat 9 am to 530 pm, 2 overnight shifts required per month *Position Purpose:* Responsible for delivering personal care and support to participants, ensuring their health and well-being. Assists the department manager with scheduling and staffing and provides guidance and support to team members as needed. *Position Responsibilities:* * Provides personal care services to participants, including but not limited to bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and ambulation. * Provides assistance with medication reminders and other health-related tasks as directed by the nursing staff. * Assists with meal preparation and feeding. * Provides light housekeeping and laundry services. * Accurately documents participant care in the electronic medical record (EMR). * Observes and reports changes in participant condition to the nursing staff. * Participates in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss participant care plans. * Provides guidance, support, and mentorship to other PCA staff. * Assists the department manager with scheduling and staffing as needed. * Performs other duties as assigned. *Qualifications:* * High school diploma or equivalent required. * Certified Personal Care Assistant (PCA) certification required. * Minimum of one (1) year of experience working as a PCA, preferably in a geriatric or healthcare setting. * Ability to provide personal care services to participants with a variety of needs. * Ability to communicate effectively with participants, families, and other members of the healthcare team. * Ability to work independently and as part of a team. * Ability to maintain confidentiality. * Ability to lift and transfer participants as needed. * Ability to perform basic computer skills. *Benefits:* * Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance * Paid Time Off * 403(b) Retirement Plan * Life Insurance * Flexible Spending Accounts * Tuition Reimbursement *Employee Perks:* * Employee Assistance Program * Discount Programs *Employee referral bonus * Other Benefits as applicable
