Facility: Black Hills Surg Hosp Location: Rapid City, SD Address: 216 Anamaria Dr, Rapid City, SD 57701, USA Shift: Varies Job Schedule: Full time Weekly Hours: 40.00 Department: Medical Laboratory Services Job Type: Full-time Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Medical Laboratory Scientist to join our Medical Laboratory Services team at Black Hills Surgical Hospital. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing leadership and guidance to the laboratory team, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and maintaining high-quality patient care. Key Responsibilities: • Provide leadership and guidance to the laboratory team, including training and mentoring staff. • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including CLIA, HIPAA, and OSHA. • Maintain high-quality patient care by ensuring accurate and timely test results. • Develop and implement laboratory policies and procedures. • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless patient care. • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to improve patient outcomes. • Develop and manage the laboratory budget. • Participate in on-call rotation as needed. Job Requirements: • Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science or related field. • Master's degree preferred. • 5+ years of experience as a Medical Laboratory Scientist. • 2+ years of experience in a leadership role. • ASCP certification or equivalent. • Strong communication and leadership skills. • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information. • Ability to work varied shifts, including evenings and weekends.
