About the project We are looking for a Lead Software Engineer (Java) who will take on the role of technical leader for a team of 5-7 developers. The project is implemented in an enterprise environment, using modern cloud-native architecture and engineering practices that support high quality and availability of solutions. Hybrid work model: 25% of working time is carried out at the client's headquarters in Scotland. This person will be responsible for the technical direction of the team, supporting the development of programmers, and collaborating with the Product and Engineering areas in delivering scalable business solutions. Your tasks Technical leadership of a team of 5-7 developers. Making architectural and technological decisions. Responsibility for the quality of the delivered solution and software development standards. Collaboration with Product and Engineering teams in planning and executing initiatives. Mentoring, substantive support, and development of team members. Promoting best engineering practices, such as Code Review, Pair Programming, TDD, BDD, and CI/CD. Supporting the construction of secure and highly available systems in a cloud environment. Who we are looking for You have a minimum of 7 years of commercial experience in software development. You have held the role of Lead Software Engineer, Tech Lead, or Engineering Lead. You have experience in leading teams working in Agile methodologies. You have created and developed enterprise solutions with high availability. You have experience in mentoring and developing programmers. You communicate fluently in Polish and English (min. B2). Technologies Must-have: Java, Spring Boot REST API Microservices Kubernetes Clouds CI/CD Experience in the banking or financial sector. Nice to have: Knowledge of cybersecurity issues. Experience with GenAI or AI-assisted Software Engineering. What we offer Hybrid work model: 25% of working time is carried out at the client's headquarters in Scotland, with the method of organizing onsite work being flexible and agreed upon with the client. Office presence can be realized in a regular model or in the form of consolidated trips, provided that the average level of about 25% of working time on-site is maintained. The remaining part of the work is carried out remotely from Poland, Great Britain, or another EU country. The project is planned for approximately 12 months.
