Lead Expert Climate Strategy & Sustainability Performance (m/w/d)

Your Tasks

As Lead Expert Climate Strategy & Sustainability Performance (m/w/d), you are the driving force behind our Climate Journey. You develop our climate strategy and SBTi goals independently – from data basis to final validation – and ensure that we make genuine progress, not just check boxes. With your expertise, you bring together strategy, numbers, and operational reality and build a Sustainability Performance Framework that really steers us and takes KoRo forward in terms of sustainability.

Your Tasks

• Development, steering, and validation of our climate strategy including SBTi goal setting
• Setup and implementation of an enterprise-wide Sustainability Performance Framework for data-based management
• Expert responsibility for GHG Accounting (Scope 1, 2, and 3) according to the GHG Protocol, including quality assurance
• Leadership of cross-functional projects for implementing decarbonization and ESG initiatives
• Participation in shaping the content of internal and external sustainability communication, including sparring on annual reporting

Your Profile

• You have at least 5–8 years of professional experience in Corporate Sustainability or environmental/natural resource consulting
• You bring deep expertise in Climate Strategy, Decarbonization, and SBTi Goal Setting, and you may have personally led a complete SBTi submission cycle – from data calculation to official validation
• You possess very solid knowledge of GHG Accounting (Scope 1–3) and work confidently with complex, detailed data
• You have experience with relevant ESG Standards and regulations (e.g., CSRD/ESRS, VSME, GRI, TCFD)
• You have proven experience in strategic Project Management and steering cross-functional stakeholders
• You are communicatively strong and can translate complex ESG data into clear, credible, and greenwashing-free messages
• You have a **Hands-on-**mentality, set things up quickly and reliably, and feel comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamically changing environment
• You are fluent in spoken and written German and English
