Job description
The Opportunity Our client is a high-growth scale-up on a mission to expand and make an impact through AI, automation and data science. They’re seeking a Lead Data Scientist to lead the design and delivery of GenAI solutions across a broad range of enterprise projects. This includes building AI agents, architecting end-to-end machine learning systems, and guiding strategic AI consulting engagements. You'll act as a technical lead, people manager, and client advisor - playing a pivotal role in shaping the company's AI strategy and vision. As part of this role, you will be responsible for: • Developing and maintaining GenAI solutions that meet customer needs and drive business outcomes. • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to design and deliver innovative AI-powered products and services. • Providing technical guidance and mentorship to junior data scientists and engineers. • Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and delivering tailored GenAI solutions that meet those needs. • Staying up-to-date with the latest advancements in AI, machine learning, and data science, applying this knowledge to drive innovation and improvement within the company. • Developing and managing budgets for AI-related projects and initiatives. • Identifying and prioritizing opportunities for process improvements and implementing changes as needed. • Participating in the development of the company's overall strategy and vision for AI and data science. Requirements: • 5+ years of experience in a lead or senior role in data science, machine learning, or a related field. • Strong technical skills in AI, machine learning, and data science, with expertise in at least one programming language (e.g., Python, R). • Experience working with large datasets and developing predictive models. • Proven ability to lead and manage teams of data scientists and engineers. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and strategically. • Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapting to changing priorities and deadlines. • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
