Lead AI Solution Engineer (f/m/d)

Your Role at Our Company

As Lead AI Solution Engineer, you will further develop our AI Solution Engineering Team and lead it. The team consists of 5+ experienced engineers who directly configure, integrate, and bring Workist-KI to life for our customers. We are looking for a hybrid profile between engineering, product, and customer success. You combine technical excellence with genuine customer orientation and lead a team that works at the interface between our product and the business-critical processes of our customers.

You will spend about half your time on people and tech leadership and the other half yourself working strategically important customers to stay close to the product and set technical standards for the team. The role reports to our Head of Customer Success & Implementation with a dotted line to the CTO.

Your Tasks

Leadership & Team:

• You lead, coach, and develop a team of 5+ AI Solution Engineers, including regular 1:1s, career development, and performance feedback.
• You are responsible for hiring and team growth: you define profiles and conduct self-interviews.
• You set the working style and standards of the team: onboarding processes, implementation playbooks, quality criteria, handover to customer success.
• You define and track the key performance indicators of the team (e.g. time-to-value, customer-go-live-quote, implementation health).
• You are the voice of the AISE-Team in the leadership circle and work closely with product, engineering, sales, and customer success together Hands-on & Customer:
• You work yourself on strategically important customer projects, from technical integration (ERP connection, API, import/export) to go-live.
• You identify together with product & engineering recurring patterns and translate them into product improvements or use cases.
• As Tech Lead, you ensure quality and scalability: code reviews, architecture decisions, technical standards in the team.
• You are the technical point of contact for customers, before and after contract signing, and ensure data protection and compliance conformity.

Your Profile

We are looking for you as a professional team player who feels at home in an agile work environment where we share knowledge and motivate each other to achieve the best possible results.

You bring:

• 3+ years of direct personnel responsibility for engineers, solution engineers, or a comparable technical team including a track record of developing senior talent.
• You were yourself an engineer and are technically deep enough to make code reviews, debug ERP integration problems, and speak with customers about architecture (Python active, ideally experience with API integrations and ML/AI-related systems).
• Experience in B2B-SaaS or enterprise software with complex technical implementations (API integrations, ERP systems, etc.).
• Experience in building processes, playbooks, or enablement for implementation-, solution-, or forward-deployed teams.
• You love the combination of leadership and hands-on work and want to stay strong in both worlds.
• English and German fluently (C1+).
