Key Responsibilities
- Assist with complex commercial litigation matters including contract disputes, corporate governance claims, and regulatory investigations
- Support insolvency practitioners on voluntary administrations, liquidations, and receivership appointments
- Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, affidavits, and court applications
- Assist with asset recovery actions including preference payments, uncommercial transactions, and breach of duty claims
- Support dispute resolution processes including mediation, arbitration, and expert determination
- Handle discovery processes, witness preparation, and court attendance
- Provide research and analysis on commercial law and insolvency matters
- Assist with due diligence on distressed acquisitions and insolvency appointments
- Coordinate with barristers, experts, and other professional advisers
- Support client relationship management and business development activities
- Contribute to team knowledge development and precedent maintenance
You will be expected to:
- Provide quality legal work on commercial disputes and insolvency matters with appropriate supervision
- Demonstrate strong analytical skills in assessing complex commercial and insolvency issues
- Show attention to detail in drafting court documents and managing discovery processes
- Communicate effectively with clients, opposing parties, and professional advisers
- Work effectively under pressure in deadline-driven litigation and insolvency environments
- Understand commercial law developments and insolvency practice developments
- Build relationships within the commercial legal community
- Contribute to a collaborative and supportive team environment
- Demonstrate commitment to professional development and learning
- 3-5 years' experience in commercial litigation, insolvency law, or general commercial practice
- Strong understanding of commercial law principles, court procedures, and insolvency frameworks
- Experience with commercial litigation matters, court applications, or insolvency appointments
- Excellent research, analytical, and drafting skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple matters effectively
- Proactive approach with genuine interest in commercial disputes and insolvency practice
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Commitment to providing excellent client service
- Desire to develop expertise in commercial litigation and insolvency law
- Previous experience at a reputable commercial or litigation practice
- Experience with alternative dispute resolution processes
- Professional development in commercial law, litigation, or insolvency practice
