Lawson Developer

Role Overview We are seeking a highly skilled Lawson Developer with extensive experience in the AS400 (IBM i) environment. In this role, you will be the backbone of our retail operations, responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining critical Lawson ERP modules especially Retail accounting/finance. You will bridge the gap between legacy stability and modern retail demands, ensuring our inventory, financial, and supply chain systems run without a hitch. Application Development: Design and develop applications using Lawson's proprietary language, Java, or other relevant programming languages. Develop and maintain existing applications to ensure they continue to meet business needs. Ensure that all developed applications are thoroughly tested and validated before deployment. Business Analysis: Analyze business requirements and translate them into functional specifications for application development. Work closely with stakeholders to understand their needs and develop solutions that meet those needs. Requirements Gathering: Gather and document detailed requirements from stakeholders, including business users, IT personnel, and other relevant parties. Ensure that all gathered requirements are accurate, complete, and unambiguous. Lawson ERP Modules: Design, develop, and maintain critical Lawson ERP modules especially Retail accounting/finance. Ensure that these modules continue to meet the evolving needs of our retail operations. Legacy System Integration: Integrate legacy systems with modern retail systems to ensure seamless data exchange and minimize disruptions. Supply Chain Management: Manage supply chain processes, including inventory management, order fulfillment, and logistics. Financial Planning: Develop and maintain financial planning and budgeting tools to support business decision-making. Reporting and Analytics: Design and develop reports and analytics tools to provide insights into business performance and identify areas for improvement. Communication: Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including business users, IT personnel, and other relevant parties. Provide regular updates on project progress and status. Problem-Solving: Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues that arise during application development or maintenance. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve complex problems. Certifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. 5+ years of experience as a Lawson Developer. Strong understanding of Lawson ERP modules, especially Retail accounting/finance. Experience with AS400 (IBM i) environment. Proficiency in Java and/or other relevant programming languages. Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
