Position: Laproscopic General Surgeon

About the Opportunity
A private healthcare provider operating in the Surgical & Acute Care sector, delivering general and minimally invasive surgical services to a high-volume community in North Bihar. We are hiring an experienced Laproscopic General Surgeon to join an on-site surgical team in Madhubani, Bihar—driving procedural excellence, perioperative patient care, and continuous quality improvement.

• Perform diagnostic and therapeutic laparoscopic procedures—primarily laparoscopic cholecystectomy, appendectomy, hernia repairs, and other general surgical interventions—ensuring adherence to surgical safety checklists and infection-control protocols.
• Manage full perioperative workflow: evaluate patients pre-operatively, obtain informed consent, plan procedures, optimise intraoperative management, and coordinate post-operative care and discharge plans.
• Lead intraoperative decision-making and maintain accurate operative records, ensuring appropriate use of energy devices, laparoscopic instruments, and endoscopic camera systems.
• Participate in emergency general surgery roster—assess and treat acute abdomen, trauma, and urgent surgical presentations with prompt, evidence-based interventions.
• Supervise and mentor junior surgeons, surgical residents, and theatre staff; collaborate closely with anaesthesiology, nursing and allied teams to optimise patient outcomes.
• Contribute to clinical governance activities including morbidity & mortality reviews, surgical audits, protocol development, and continuous quality improvement initiatives.

Must-Have

• MBBS with MS (General Surgery) or DNB (General Surgery)
• Valid medical registration with Indian/state medical council
• Demonstrable independent operative experience in laparoscopic general surgery (e.g., lap chole, appendectomy, hernia repair)
• Proficiency with advanced laparoscopic techniques and familiarity with laparoscopic energy devices and camera systems

Preferred

• Fellowship or formal training in Minimal Access/Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery
• Prior experience working in high-volume community or district hospital settings and involvement in teaching/mentoring
